Description of Roles
• Represent the SSIG Executive Board at Maryland Chapter Board of Director Meetings
• Coordinate and oversee all activities of the SSIG
• Preside at meetings of SSIG and Executive Board
• Following one complete year of service, the Vice Chair shall assume the position of Chair
• Organize at least one community service event during term of office
• Oversee the nomination and election process
• Oversee MD SSIG social media platforms
• Organize at least one PT Pub Night Event
• Oversee all content for the student page on APTA of MD website
Night Event
– bringing opinion, perspective, and/or concerns of the PTA students to the Executive Board
– will contribute at least 1 article to MD/SSIG blog
– oversee communication and collaboration for PTA student liaisons in MD
– bringing opinion, perspective, and/or concerns of the PTA student to the Executive Board
– will contribute at least 1 article to MD/SSIG blog
– oversee communication and collaboration for PTA student liaisons in MD
– only first year PTA students are eligible for PTA champion #2
The student council is an APTA national community of students from APTA chapters and section. APTAMD ‘s student council rep does receive travel funds to attend Nat’l council meetings. In 2025, the meeting will be held in Washington, DC July 15-18.
• Student Representatives will be a liaison from the council to the APTAMD Student Special Interest Group (SSIG)
• Engage members across the association, increasing member value.
• Collaborate with other council representatives to highlight best practices and empower success.
• Meet quarterly as a council.
• Select National Student Council delegates to the House of Delegates.
• Select council steering group and chair through annual elections process.
• Implement council initiatives in coordination with the SSIG
Term: 1 Year
- provide outreach to their individual programs about the SSIG and its’ programming.
- provide feedback from their school regarding issues, hot topics, etc.
