Volunteer with Special Olympics at Competitions!

Baltimore City Public Schools Spring Games
Poly-Western High School, Baltimore, MD
May 8th-10th, 2018 
9:00am-3:00pm
 
Support the athletes of our Baltimore City Public Schools Partnership!  At this track and field meet, athletes will participate in events including races, long jump, and throwing events. Volunteers are needed to serve as timers, starters, and measuring throws.  No previous track and field experience is needed. 
 
Interscholastic Unified Track and Field Invitationals
Prince Georges Sports and Learning Complex, Hyattsville, MD
May 15th and 16th, 2018
9:00am-4:00pm
 
Interscholastic Unified Sports brings students with and without disabilities to compete together for their school. In the interscholastic track and field championships, division champions compete for the state championship for their school. Volunteers are needed to serve as timers, starters, and to measure throws. No previous experience is needed. 
 
Interscholastic Unified Bocce State Invitationals
Washington College,
Chestertown, MD
May 22nd, 2018
9:00am-4:00pm
 
Join Special Olympics Maryland athletes and unified partners from across the state as they vie for gold on the bocce court. Volunteers are needed to serve as score keepers, measuring assistants, Officials, and Athlete escorts. No previous bocce experience is required.
 
Summer Games
Towson, MD
June 8th-10th, 2018
 
This is the big one! Special Olympics Maryland Summer Games, hosted by Towson University, brings together over 1,500 athletes from across the state representing their home counties while competing in Softball, Athletics (Track and Field), Swimming, Bocce, and Cheerleading.
 
Volunteers can join the fun at both competition and non-competition venues. No prior sports knowledge or experience is required. Great opportunities are available for individuals, families, groups, and students looking to support some of Maryland's BEST athletes.

Join the Special Olympics Maryland Medical Team
 
Medical Volunteers provide necessary coverage at events through out the year.  Ensuring the safety of our athletes, Medical Volunteer examine and treatment to SOMD athletes should injury occur.  
If you are a medical professional and are able to volunteer, 
The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for persons eight years of age and older with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.
